I honestly hope Sheary plays in Russia next year and ends his career there so we never have to bring his name up anymore.
We are trying to build a PLAYOFF team here, folks, not a regular season stat champion. |

"It's almost like they should have kept him in the first place instead of chasing a Tom Wilson revenge plot fantasy."
Say that now, the Pens acquire him and he gets pushed off the puck by guys half the size of Tom Wilson. I guess you're in for a rude awakening when the Pens get pushed around by the Capitals because they're much more physical. Oh wait...they have so much speed, and guys can move up and down the lineup.

What's the proposed exchange? Not seeing anyone off our current roster or any picks unless very late round. |

Or he gets one hard check, becomes a deer in headlights, and is then a healthy scratch for the remainder of the playoffs.
2 goals in his last 34 playoff games. There's a stat for the stat-inclined.
Speaking of stats, how about 9 goals and 10 assists in 53 games this season. Yeah, let's go get that guy because Crosby made him look good for a brief period. I mean, if we're targeting that kind of production, that opens up the search to just about every player on every team. |

I wouldn't mind Sheary again. There are others I'd prefer for that depth forward spot JR mentioned but if that's who it ends up being I'm fine with it.
He scored some very big goals in the 2016 run....how quickly some of you forget. |

I would prefer Sheary back over other depth options on the market. He's had success with the team, knows the system, coach and players and can play anywhere in the lineup.

You do realize we aren't targeting top 6 players right? Just depth guys. |

I'd rather try and acquire a guy like Duclair if it costs another draft pick than take on Sheary for a bag of Jack Johnsons dirty jock straps |

We have enough guys who can play up and down the lineup and, to be honest, he never really seemed to fit in a bottom 6 role. For a 5th round pick or whatever, I'm not going to start a protest... I just dont think he fills a specific need.
Either go all in and get another true top 6 guy (Palmeiri?) or get a really good bottom 6 role player (by now you all know I'm talking about Wood) |

They should just start dealing next years picks for Tatar/Palmieri and load up for next year.
Simon+1st+Prospect for Tatar
Zucker-Sid-Tatar/Palmieri
Guentzel-Geno-Rust
Kahun-McCann-Hornqvist
ZAR-Blueger-Tanev
Trade Bjugstad. Trade JJ. Let Schultz walk
Dumo-Letang
Petterson-Marino
Riikola-Ruhwedel - j.boyd919
Unless Tatar/Kreider can play his off wing comfortably I don’t see the point of getting another lefty. Same with sheary; This team has enough mid6 left wings. Pageau I think would be the ideal fit for style, 3c, and he’s a right shot. Craig smith would be my second choice as a righty. Or at least Duclair and grandlund play right wing if Pageau costs too much.
Edit. Or palmieri if we’re going all in is my 1st choice. |

Craig Smith would be great but, with NSH potentially not 'selling', it would probably cost Schultz. |

If you were frustrated with Sheary you will hate Duclair. |

Tatar, Zucker, and Rust can all play the right side. |
